— about

Operators First.

Every Decision Shaped by the Basin.

SHEP is a data-driven independent energy company built around the development of oil and natural gas resources in the Williston Basin. Our work concentrates in established producing corridors — places where the geology, the infrastructure, and the operating playbook have been written, tested, and refined over decades.

We develop long-lateral horizontal wells targeting the Middle Bakken and Three Forks formations, working alongside established multi-operator corridors to maximize reservoir continuity and offset performance.

Region

Williston Basin, North Dakota — working in the most heavily drilled portions of the Bakken petroleum system, within the Van Hook, Heart Butte, and Deepwater Creek Bay fields.

Formations

Middle Bakken and Three Forks. Long-lateral horizontal completions deployed within established spacing units with multi-zone potential.

Engineering

Reserve estimates, type curves, and sensitivity analysis anchored to Netherland, Sewell & Associates, Inc. — independent, institutional-grade review.

Profile

Development-oriented, not exploration. We participate where the geology, infrastructure, and offset performance have already been established, helping manage certain development uncertainties.

Three Fields.

One Basin.

Decades of Development.

Spotted Hawk operates inside two of the Williston Basin's most established producing corridors.2 Both sit within the Bakken's mature, multi-operator footprint — surrounded by historical production, contiguous reservoir continuity, and the gathering systems necessary to help move product to market.

— approach

How We Work.

Our data-driven approach is fueled by by the longevity of development in the Bakken. Hence we operate in established places, with established partners, guided by established data. Discipline is structural — built into where we work and how we evaluate every location before a bit ever turns.

Known Geology

We work identified drilling locations supported by existing geological, engineering, offset production, and infrastructure data — rather than building inventory through early-stage acquisition.

DEFINED development

Independent

Review

Reserve estimates, type curves, and sensitivity work are anchored to analysis by Netherland, Sewell & Associates — one of the most recognized reserve engineering firms in the industry.

Third-party engineering

Proven Ground

We concentrate inside mature, multi-operator portions of the Williston Basin where reservoir continuity and infrastructure are already established — which we believe will help narrow and manage risk to execution and price.

Established corridors

Hands-On Execution

Modern long-lateral drilling and completion designs deployed within established spacing units, paired with a post-production hedging framework intended to seek to support cash flow potential.

Established corridors

— the bakken

The Williston Basin is one of North America's most significant oil-producing regions — defined by extensive infrastructure, mature service markets, and a reserve history measured in decades.

The Bakken petroleum system underlies portions of North Dakota, Montana, and Saskatchewan. We work in its North Dakota core, where the basin's development story has been most actively written.3
